That is certainly what a Christian doctor, Kara Davis, would like for you to think. In her book, Spiritual Secrets to Weight Loss (sold via Amazon.com), she…
“believes the key to successfully losing weight is in cultivating the ninefold fruit of the Holy Spirit:
1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self-Control”
I know that I have many of those above-mentioned qualities; some are stronger than others though. Perhaps, the secret is finding a good balance to live by? Who knows. Guess we’ll have to read the book to find out, huh?
I have a tendency to believe what she states. After all, for me, it isn’t necessarily what or how much I eat, but the lack of exercise. I have become sedentary in nature due to my job duties and responsibilities; however, some is due to the injuries I have received about 3 years ago which has been difficult to find the help to get the health services I need and my pains from the injuries continue. I know, for example, that I need to walk around more, but the treatment for my knee/leg injuries require that I elevate my legs. Can’t elevate and walk at the same time. Ugghhhh….
What do you think?
Have you had a great success with weight loss?
Was it a particular diet that worked for you? or, were you led by your spirituality?
