Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.     ~Margaret Mead

A personal story.

Recently, I was talking to a friend, “Wendy”, who, after a long conversation about some issues she was having about the care of her Dad, turned the conversation about me, asking if I was happy with my life now. I told her I was, and then she said that she had to tell me something.

I braced myself for what she was about to tell me because I often have those epiphany moments where I am compelled to tell folks something out of the blue; I could sense that she was heading into that direction as well.

She proceeded to tell me about how she and her friends went on a mission with intent to find someone to attend her wedding with her basically. They set the date, and proceeded to plan the wedding. Instead of getting married on that date, she ended up having found the guy she was going to marry by that date and married him about 6 months later. At any rate, what she was giving me was a ray of hope after having my husband die from a heart attack about 5 years ago. Hmmm… perhaps, it is time to set a date??

What she didn’t realize is that I had just experienced from a guy that I had been dating off and on for the past few years him moving forward with someone else he just met; he just told me the news last night. What she said certainly did give me a new ray of hope.

Then, when I checked my email after getting off of the phone with my friend, I received an email stating….

“We all have a desire to make a difference, don’t we? We want to
make our mark on the world, to leave it a better place than it was
when we came. It’s a desire that’s as good as hardwired into our
DNA, one of the six human needs that speaker/writer/motivator Tony Robbins says we all share. We not only want to change to world, we feel an innate need to do so.”

Somehow, that seems to speak to another decision that I had recently made to pursue additional education and career involving biotechnology and technical writing, in a sense. It seemed to affirm that I am on the right track.

On some days, you just keep getting those “Ah-ha! moments” or “V-8 moments” that just speak to you. Perhaps, to you, as a reader, it may not make much sense; however, what I am writing today may or may not be intended either to make sense to you specifically today.

At any rate, I feel like God is intervening in his own ways today to point me in a direction that I have already begun to travel that twist in the path that is approaching my way. Be it right or wrong, remains to be seen; however, with this seemingly affirmation, it seems to be quite right.

Ever have those days that you feel that you have just been given some signs????

Robert Frost. 1875–
67. The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same, 10
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back. 15
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. 20

Heard it so on the news, but I couldn’t find any support of the story linked on their sites; didn’t find it supported on the official Lance Armstrong website as well — at least, initially!!

I’ll continue to look for support of the news announcement on the news sites….

In the meantime, though, I did find support of it on a blogsite from a New Zealand blogger that did make reference to it on his blogsite called, “WinosAndFoodies”. He is even sporting a yummy looking Lemon Meringue Tart (Pie) on his site.

Hope you will show your support of a Livestrong Yellow Day, whether or not it is an official day!! 😀

Many people are affected by cancer each and every day;
