“It’s not too late…Please join the Riverbend Senior Adults on a tour to the Brenham area. The blue bonnets are out in full bloom and beautiful! We will also visit the Pleasant Hill Winery, the Bluebell Creamery, Antique Rose Emporium and the St. Claire Monastery and Miniature Horse Farm. The cost is $55 and includes motor coach fare, lunch at Purcell’s cafeteria and any entry fees. Bus leaves at 9:00 a.m. and will return at approximately 5:00 p.m. We will need a minimum of 25 people to make this trip happen. Hope to see you there!”
While I am excited that they sent me an invite because I just get thrilled each year to do my annual hunt for bluebonnets, I am not sure that I would necessarily be most welcomed on their senior jaunt as I am not quite of age, although I would love to have company this year.
A friend of mine has been invited to come along with me this year that also shares in the excitement of taking photographs; however, he has many trips planned out of town at this time and isn’t quite sure if he’ll be in town when I am planning to go (but he’ll try). At least, if I am able to go with the Church group, I will have at least one opportunity to see the bluebonnets in full swing. Then, if he is able to go with me after all, I will have had the pleasure of two trips with the accompianment of others on my search for the most perfect bluebonnet this year!!
We shall see!!

UPDATE:
Just ended up not going on this trip. I soooo wish that I had, but I do need to see about my camera. It is taking fuzzy pictures for some reason. It is such a shame; I really did want to go but (1) I had been working the overnight shifts before and after the trip time frame (logic says that sleep is better had than deprived upon) and (2) I didn’t receive a confirmation.
It might be silly to most people, but when one receives an invite via an email, to me, it seems logical to expect a confirmation that they received my email confirming that I would want to go. Of course, you might anti up that by stating, “Well, you did confirm the invite. If they confirm your confirmation, at what point do you draw the line to find it no longer necessary to confirm the confirmation of the prior email???” Lol.
However, I had posed some questions in the invite confirmation; therefore, I would have felt it proper for them to answer my questions emailed and confirm.
It would have, perhaps, been simpler to call them; however, I sleep oftentimes during the day since I work at night making it harder to follow up with folks in their normal waking hours environment.
I am sure that there are more opportunities forthcoming, even though the time frame that the bluebonnets and wildflowers are available are limited in duration.
